Volunteer of the Month

At Aftersight, we believe in recognizing the exceptional efforts of our volunteers who not only meet but exceed the high standards we set. Each month, we honor a volunteer whose dedication and hard work stand out.

The selected Volunteer of the Month is awarded a certificate of achievement, personally signed by the Executive Director and the Programming Volunteer Specialist, in recognition of their exceptional contributions. Additionally, they are highlighted on our Volunteer Spotlight podcast, prominently featured on Aftersight’s homepage and social media platforms, and acknowledged in team meetings and our monthly newsletter.

Selection Criteria

Our selection process examines a broad range of qualities that demonstrate outstanding dedication. We recognize volunteers not only for their consistent, high-quality contributions and engagement but also for their ability to adapt to changes, accept feedback constructively, persevere through challenges, and engage in respectful, constructive dialogues to enhance our services and mission. Additionally, their support of Aftersight’s mission and a positive team spirit are crucial factors.

How We Choose

With nearly 200 volunteers, selecting just one Volunteer of the Month is a challenging task. Each month, Aftersight Staff review the contributions of all active volunteers. We welcome nominations from peers and staff for individuals who exemplify our core values. A review panel evaluates these nominations against our performance metrics.

This program underscores our commitment to celebrating those who go above and beyond, enhancing the quality and reach of our services. Join us in applauding the passion and dedication of our outstanding volunteers!
