October 15th is White Cane Day!

The White Cane is a tool and a symbol recognized around the world to identify people who are blind/low vision. Thanks to Lion George Bonham from the Peoria, IL Lions Club for identifying the need and leading Lions Clubs International into the solution. Lion George wanted the cane to be white and reflective so it would stand out and reflect headlights at night. The design quickly caught on around the world. In partnership with Lions Clubs, AINC offers free white canes.

He told us white canes are hard to come by in his country. Thanks to generous donations to our White Cane Project, he left AINC with a brand-new cane, free of charge! This is the impact of your donations. With just $75, you can provide a white cane for someone who truly needs it, and by donating between November 1st and December 5th, your donation multiplies!
