Volunteer Spotlight: Summer 2023
Every month, Evan Starnes interviews the volunteer of the month to talk about what it means to be a volunteer, how they got involved, and of course, there is always time for some fun questions to spice up the show!

July: Angie and John Flynn
Parents Magazine and Pueblo Shiftain
“I started out volunteering about 4 years ago, mostly recording short PSA messages. (My office was just down the street from the AINC world headquarters.) That got me accustomed to the process and to the novelty of recording myself and so I “graduated” to a regular hour-long program. When the pandemic hit I started recording from home, which I prefer anyway because I can be on my own schedule. I enjoy volunteering because I know that there are people out there who get something of value from what I’m doing, and it’s so easy for me to provide that. It’s just talking; anybody can do that!” – John Flynn
“Not only do I love finding ways to make little improvements as I record each week; volunteering has expanded my world view and I like knowing I’m providing a needed service for others! “ – Angie
June: Elaine Walford
Elaine has been a reader since 2007, she served on the AINC Board, and she helped get our Spanish language programming off the ground.
