Upcoming: Topic of the month

We are committed to meet the needs of our listeners. The landscape of news media has changed dramatically in recent years, and so has the way that people get their news. At AINC, we are working to change with it. As part of this goal, we have formed the Programming Advisory Committee (PAC) to assist us in identifying unmet needs and guide our programming.  The committee members are print-impaired AINC listeners who bring their lived experience to the table.

We are excited to announce our Topic of the Month initiative, where we will take feedback directly from the PAC, research, and analytics to focus each month of the year on topics that our audience needs. This will include audio content, AINC produced podcasts, resource lists, social media posts and more.

Our September Topic of the Month: Mental Health

It is evident that mental health and substance misuse are under-addressed in older populations with vision loss. For that reason, we have selected mental health as our first topic to kickstart our Topic of the Month initiative. We will be covering topics such as crisis support, addiction, depression, isolation, grief, and domestic abuse.

Future topics will include:

  • October: Self Advocacy and Legal Rights
  • November: Disability Awareness and Education
  • December: Adapting to Vision and Hearing Loss

You can help us make a difference in lives of many Colorado residents by donating to AINC.
